Count your Blessings

(Pro 31:19)She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Have you thought lately about just how easy we have it? If we need new clothes we can just run down to the store and pick them up. But here we read about the virtuous woman spinning her own thread. My guess would be that this is why she was looking for wool(Pro 31:13). Spinning thread is something that I'm not very familiar with so I headed to the dictionary:
spindle : a round stick with tapered ends used to form and twist the yarn in hand
distaff : a staff for holding the flax, tow, or wool in spinning
But the work doesn't end there. Then she would have to weave the thread into cloth and sew the clothes. I'm sure she didn't do all of this in one day but that's still a lot of work!

How often do we take blessings like this for granted? Probably more often than we'd like to admit. God has blessed us with in so many ways. We must take the time to thank Him!
(Eph 5:20)Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Won't you take a few minutes today to make a list of some of your blessings and thank Him?
