(Pro 31:18)She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
The virtuous woman gets up early and has plenty to do to keep her busy all day. Think how tired she must be extremely tired at the end of her day. But her work doesn't stop at nightfall! She is prepared to work at any hour!
Now this verse isn't saying that we should not sleep until all the laundry is washed and put away and every inch of the house spotless.(And I am so thankful for that! I might be up all night tonight!) It's not hurting anything to put off scrubbing that bathroom until tomorrow. What will hurt you is procrastinating on the important things like bible study or prayer.
Unfortunately, many today think they are too busy to take time for study or prayer. But how often to these same people make time to watch their favorite show on TV or to go check out that big sale they're having at the mall? We must make sure that we have our priorities right! (Matt 6:19-21)
