Proverbs 31 Woman

One of my favorite books in the bible is Proverbs. It is full of instruction for daily Christian living. Chapter 31:10-31 tells  us about a great woman. A woman who is praised for her many good works and qualities. Many women put her on a pedestal; thinking becoming like her is near impossible. However,  we should desire to be like this woman. This is no small task. How to accomplish it requires a closer look.

(Pro 31:10)  Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

What Exactly is Virtue?
     As Christians we should strive to be virtuous.

(2 Peter 1:5)  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

But what is virtue? How do we acquire it? The Hebrew word used is חיל(chayil). Strong defines it as "probably a force, whether of men, means or other resources".  Webster's defines it as "a conformity to a standard of right". So we learn that virtue is a force of good and to gain it we must conform to a standard of right. That standard of right is God's will. This is something we, as Christians, should be striving to do daily.
