Playing Dress Up

Creating Fairytales, Etsy

As a child, many of my hours were spent playing dress up. A book and pencil in hand and I was ready to be a teacher; a doll and I was a mommy. Pretending to do these things taught me skills that I am using now. But playing dress up and pretending isn't always a good thing.

As Christians it's easy to put on a smile and pretend that everything's okay. If we just show up for services, no one will suspect that we've haven't been faithful. It's east to pretend to be a Christian. Of course, there's one person we can't pretend with-God.

We can't keep anything from God. He knows our thoughts, our heart, our struggles. He knows if we are sincere in our worship to Him or if we're just going through the motions. And it's a good thing that we can't hide from God. It helps to keep us pure and shows us how much He loves us.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
Despite all the sinful things you've done and all the evil thoughts you've had, God sent His only son to die for you! How great His love is that He was willing to do this while we were still sinners!

Don't try to pretend with God!
