Consider the Lilies: Armour of God

There's a lot of work that goes into preparing for a trip. You have to consider where you're going, activities that will be done, and what the weather will be like. Then if your like me, you make a list of everything you need to take. You want to be prepared for the trip. If your going to Alaska in December you're going to need those heavy coats.

We put much time and effort to being sure that we(and our families) are ready for trips. But how much effort do we put into making sure we are ready to go out into the world? God's made a check list for us of His armour. All we have to do is put it on!

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withdtand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:11-13

Why do need to put on this armour? Because we need it! Firemen put on suits, hats, and gloves to go into a burning building. Are they going to leave off part of it? Not unless they want to get burned. We must also put on the whole armour of God! (Notice it's also mentioned twice in these first few verses-must be important!) Doing so will prepare us to stand!
