Tater Tot Casserole
Tater Tot Casserole is one of my husbands favorite meals! It's really cheap so I try to make it a couple times a month. It's also really easy to make and can even be made ahead and froze. This makes enough for my husband and I plus enough for him to get a couple lunches out of it! Sometimes, I divide the recipe up into 2 smaller casserole dishes and freeze one for later!
What you need:1 lb ground beef, browned and drained1 can cream of chicken soup1 bag of tater totsShredded Cheese, any type will do. I like cheddar :)SaltPepperOnion powder
Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Layer tater tots in bottom of casserole dish. You will have some tater tots left over.
- Mix beef, soup and seasonings(to taste) in bowl. Pour on top of tater tots and spread out.
- Top with cheese!
- Bake about 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and it is warm throughout.
Another version of this is using boneless skinless chicken breast instead of beef. I slow cook mine in a little broth until it shreds easily. Then mix it in your tator tot, soup, cheese mixture and bake. You can also cook in a crockpot on low for 8 hours adding the cheese the last hour.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up! This looks great! I will try it for my family soon! Many blessings, Lisa
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone ever cook the tater tots before assembling the casserole? I've tried to make Tater Tot Casserole a couple of times before, but mine are always kinda soggy! I wonder if this might help? Seems like I always like other people's TTC better than my own....
ReplyDeleteI've never tired that but I think I might next time I make it! :)
DeleteI tried this again yesterday and cooked the tater tots first before making the TTC. YUMMY! It turned out WAY better than mine has in the past. Just thought I would share! =)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I am making this later this week and will definitely try cooking them first. Thanks for letting me know how it turned out! :)
