Quench Your Thirst

Via Free Digital Photos
This man has been working in the field all day with the sun beating down on him. He is tired, hot, and thirsty. But there is no water where he is working. He would give anything for just a tiny sip of water.
Have you ever experienced a time when you outdoors and got hot and thirsty? I'm sure most of us have experienced something like that. But all we had to do was walk inside and get a drink. Unlike the man who had no way of getting any water. Imagine how great his desire was!
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; (Psalm 63:1)

David tells us in Psalm 63:1 that our desire to seek God should be as our thirst in a land where no water is found. We should long to spend time digging into His word, to learn more about Him. We should jump at the chance to share His love with others. Unfortunately, many times we put off our study time. We become so consumed by the tasks of the day that we run out of time to study our bible.

How do we grow our desire to seek God? Through study of His word, and the more you study the more you will want to learn. Prayer will also help. Ask God to increase your desire , to help you love His word more.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. As I read your post, I was reminded that thirst is cultivated. As we take time to drink from the well of living water, it makes thirsty for this kind of water all the time. Then, if we neglect our time in God's Word, we get thirsty much faster than those who don't regularly drink. It's a great problem to have. Thanks for making me think today:)

  2. This is really encouraging :) :) Sometimes I have to make the decision to follow God on a daily basis, even when my heart is not in it. I find that when I do that, my emotions/desire will soon follow because I'm walking in obedience. Thanks for this encouraging post today. Love and hugs form the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
